Being a QA tester doesn't mean looking for bugs in someone else's work, it means trying to make sure that the client gets a final 'product' that you and all your colleagues at Studio Present can be proud of.
Here's a look into my daily routine as a QA tester, outlined in a few key bullet points:
- Morning routine: Starts with an obligatory morning tea and then I dive into reviewing the day's tasks, always appreciating the new variety each day unfolds.
- Daily project workflow: I start my day working on a commerce site for organic products, then move on to a presentation site for a company specializing in special tools before breakfast. Around noon, I shift my focus to web applications for competition applications, and I end the day by testing additional features for various projects.
- Project variety: I tackle a range of projects, each with its own unique colors, designs, and functionalities.
- Team dynamics: I work alongside a variety of colleagues, each of us contributing to a vibrant and dynamic team atmosphere.
- Core tasks: I'm all about uncovering hidden bugs, a skill not everyone has.
- Workflow: At Studio Present, we stick to a roadmap, checking our work at key development phases.
- Bug hunting: Finding a bug? That’s my kind of victory.
- Communication: Talking things through with the team is key, especially with bug fixes. It’s all about being clear and on point.
- Tools of the trade: A screenshot can say it all, making it my go-to tool.
It all seems like fun, but there is also a lot of responsibility towards the client and colleagues. Of course, after a successful project, my work is not done yet, we have a lot of clients who want us to maintain their site, which means that we periodically review, tweak or possibly add some new features.
